Tropical waters that started the season on the cooler side have warmed and a traveling spot of storminess is stoking African tropical waves.

Colorado State University has released their two-week forecast for North Atlantic Tropical Cyclone activity for the middle of August, and NOAA's prediction for the Atlantic hurricane season remains on-track.

As the Atlantic Ocean stirs with a tropical storm and two disturbances​, including one off Northeast Florida, the university's researchers maintained that the season's activity will be slightly above normal.
