Comedian Craig Robinson, known for playing Darryl Philbin in “The Office,” shocked fans when he announced plans to close the curtain on his comedy career and focus on his “true calling.”

The setting is a drab American town named Clovis, home to suburban couple the Watermans: Tami (Kate Mara), a florist recovering from cancer, and Craig (Robinson), who works for a glumly cynical “digital innovations” company. He is the kind of superficially chipper dullard that no one in the office can stand and no one at home particularly notices.

The reports of Craig Robinson’s retirement from comedy appear to have been greatly exaggerated. Turns out “The Office” star’s so-called “retirement” is believed to be part of a new brand marketing campaign expected to be unleashed in the coming days - and perhaps for a division of AT&T.

The (former?) comedian is joined by Ellie Kemper, Angela Kinsey, Creed Bratton and Oscar Nuñez to pitch his innovative small business idea.
