Usage abnormalities with star players and an overall failure to get the most out of a talented roster were leading reasons why the New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau this week after he guided the franchise to its first conference finals appearance in 25 seasons, according to SNY NBA insider Ian Begley.

Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks ended up losing a hard-fought series in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Indiana Pacers last week. It was an incredibly entertaining series, but the Knicks simply did not have enough to pull out the win.

During Wednesday’s debate, each candidate had to pick a side on the thumbs up/thumbs down binary about the New York Knicks’ decision to fire Thibodeau following their Eastern Conference finals defeat to the Indiana Pacers. Seven candidates did not agree with the Knicks’ move, while Michael Blake had the backs of James Dolan and Leon Rose.
