OpenAI's Stargate project lacks a fully developed plan and hasn't secured funding yet, according to a report from the Financial Times.

OpenAI and Japanese conglomerate SoftBank will each commit $19 billion to fund Stargate, a joint venture to develop data centers for artificial intelligence in the U.S., the Information reported on Wednesday.

Stargate was introduced earlier this week as a data center project intended to power AI systems for OpenAI, which has distanced itself from Microsoft due to its unwillingness to provide more resources.
