Record river flooding is ongoing in parts of Washington State, but following a drier weekend, a new worry for wetter weather will arise early in the week ahead.

SNOHOMISH, Washington >> Heavy rains drenching the Pacific Northwest triggered flooding today across much of the Pacific Northwest from Oregon north through Washington state and into British Columbia,

An arctic air blast swept south from Canada, spreading into the northern United States. Meanwhile residents of the Pacific Northwest braced for possible mudslides and levee failures as floodwaters slowly recede.

Spruce Hill Winery, a family-owned operation that specializes in producing small-batch wines sourced from the Pacific Northwest, will open a tasting room in Gig Harbor in mid-January.

The Pacific Northwest is expected to see up to seven inches of rain this week, as the eastern United States braces for arctic cold.
