The Bucs painted a picture during the minicamps and OTAs of the offseason that Tristan Wirfs being on the sideline was just precautionary. Fast forward a few weeks, reports come out that Wirfs had undergone knee surgery and was expected to miss the start of the season for the team.

The biggest concern for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they open training camp for their 50th season on Tuesday is the status of offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs and wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Wirfs' knee was expected to be fine with rest, with Bowles saying during the offseason program that Wirfs would be full-go at training camp. Instead, Wirfs required surgery after the offseason program, and additional damage was found during the procedure.
