Violeta the baby spider monkey is beginning a new chapter at the Oakland Zoo after she was rescued by authorities during a methamphetamine bust in Solano County.

After a traffic stop uncovered meth on a suspect's person, officers investigated his home and found over $25,000 in drugs and an illegal baby spider monkey.

Not the first time: Violeta is the second spider monkey rescued in the Bay Area this year. A California Highway Patrol officer discovered a young spider monkey during a traffic stop in January.
