This week's streaming premieres include a new HBO original that appears to be following in the footsteps of "Sex and the City" and "Girls," as well as an Apple TV original that is very much in the same vein as "Slow Horses,

Apple has reportedly shown an interest in buying media giant Warner Bros., likely to add its content to Apple TV. But there's competition, with Amazon and Paramount also in the race.

HBO Max is once again raising the cost of streaming. Warner Bros. Discovery, the platform’s parent company, announced Tuesday that all HBO Max plans are increasing in price, marking the service’s third hike in three years.

The streaming service price increases show no sign of slowing. Today, new pricing comes into effect for HBO Max – with each tariff going up by $1-2 dollars in the United States.

HBO Max also has a number of new releases to treat subscribers. 2025’s “ Bring Her Back ,” from “Talk to Me” directors Danny and Michael Philippou, will start streaming on Oct. 3, just in time for Halloween. Eva Victor’s critically acclaimed debut “ Sorry, Baby ” — which they wrote, directed and starred in — will start streaming Oct. 30.

Streaming fans, brace yourselves. HBO Max is hiking prices again. On1, 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that all subscription tiers would be increasing, marking the third consecutive year of price hikes.

The ad-supported tier of HBO Max is currently $9.99 per month, but after the hike, it will cost $10.99 per month. The basic ad-free tier will rise slightly more from $16.99 to $18.49.
