NORFOLK, Va. — The 2025 Hurricane Season officially ended on Sunday, November 30th. In total, the Atlantic basin produced 13 named storms, most of which were only tropical storms. Tropical Storm Chanal made landfall in South Carolina in early July.

The National Hurricane Center is officially bringing artificial intelligence into the fight against tropical storms. Forecasters spent the 2025 hurricane season experimenting heavily with these new computer programs.

The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30, and this year's tropical activity will be heavily influenced by a growing El Nino.
