When Lane Kiffin took over as head coach at Ole Miss, he was greeted with a hero’s welcome when he landed in Oxford. Kiffin, now the new head coach at LSU, was given a different kind of reception as he was preparing to depart from Ole Miss on Sunday.

The Ole Miss football team held a team meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday where the coaching changes were announced to the team.

As Kiffin prepared to make his exit from Ole Miss, several Rebels fans gathered outside the gates at Oxford-University Airport. When the coach emerged from a vehicle and walked toward a waiting plane, those fans began to boo and deliver obscene gestures (they were not signaling that Kiffin was “No. 1”).

Ole Miss fans were, understandably, livid on Sunday afternoon. A large group of Rebels fans made their way toward the airport in Oxford, Mississippi, and gave their former head football coach quite the sendoff shortly after he made his jump to LSU official. It went about exactly as one would expect.
