Despite the ongoing government shutdown, NASA did manage to complete a major milestone in its effort to send astronauts back to the moon.
Japan's space agency successfully launched its most powerful H3 rocket, carrying a newly developed unmanned cargo spacecraft for its first mission to deliver supplies to the International Space Station.
Originally set for the night of Oct. 22, the launch was postponed until Thursday. SpaceX did not give a specific reasoning for the delay. Weather at the Cape was forecasted by the 45th Weather Squadron to be 95% favorable, yet booster recovery conditions were not listed.
