Plans to release Rob Reiner‘s final film “Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale” are on pause after the director's death Sunday. Bleecker Street acquired U.S. distribution rights to the concert performance film directed by Reiner in October.
According to an October press release, Reiner shot the concert film at the prehistoric site in England. It’s a follow-up to the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap — Reiner’s directorial debut which he also cowrote and costared in — about a fictional rock band’s reunion. In the years after its release, the film became an often-quoted cult hit.
The winter solstice - which occurs this year on Sunday, Dec. 21 - marks the longest night of the year. Across the Bay Area artists and community groups plan to mark the turning point with live music, ecstatic dance, sound baths, lantern walks, meditation and gatherings focused on rejuvenation and light as we approach the upcoming new year.
