A report of an active shooter at Villanova turned out to be a "cruel hoax," according to the university president and Delaware County DA.

Dylan Johnson, a student editor for Villanova Sports, posted a video on X at approximately 4:45 p.m. ET of a frantic scene that showed students and faculty near Austin Hall on Villanova's main campus after an alert was sent out for an active shooter.

A day after a hoax shooting incident upended freshman orientation week at Villanova University, police continue to search for the suspect who they say made a bogus report of someone with an automatic weapon terrorizing the leafy suburban campus.
