That’s mostly what this game will be about for them, whereas the Chargers are using it more for regular-season prep by playing some of their starters.

The Rams gave Brennan Jackson a long look with a team-high 43 snaps, which may not necessarily be a good sign. He did play well, though. Keir Thomas’ playing time was limited to 17 snaps as he tries to make the team for Week 1. Nick Hampton played 28 snaps.
Not every Rams fan put it quite so forcefully. Bob Gerard said he moved to L.A. from Chicago and hitched onto the Rams when they returned in 2016. The 58-year-old, who donned a Puka Nacua jersey, joked that he’s fine letting the Chargers crash at SoFi — so long as the arrangement isn’t mistaken.
