Kenny Omega‘s AEW in-ring return has been announced for AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage on January 15th. Omega had been sidelined since December 2023 due to diverticulitis. He underwent surgery, and he did not wrestle again until NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 6th,

After 13 months, this marked the return of Kenny Omega to in-ring competition.

Omega walked into the Tokyo Dome to a song by the FFXIV composer, sung by Jason Charles Miller and featuring a vocal appearance from Nobuo Uematsu.

Kenny Omega wants to see Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada back in NJPW after making his own return to the promotion. The former AEW and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion had his first match in 13 months at NJPW’s Wrestle Dynasty event.
