CHICAGO (WGEM) - Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul (D) is opening a new unit looking at past convictions making sure prosecutors got it right. He announced Tuesday his office is launching a Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU).

The new Conviction Integrity Unit will primarily help state’s attorneys in counties that do not already have offices to investigate potential wrongful convictions.
