Secretary of State Marco Rubio's plane experienced a mechanical issue while en route to Munich, Germany, on Thursday.

This evening, en route from Washington to Munich, the plane on which Secretary Rubio is flying experienced a mechanical issue,” State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.

The secretary was on his way to the Munich Security Conference in Germany when the issue arose. He has since returned to Washington D.C. but is expected to continue his trip on a different plane.
