The slow-moving storms knocked out power to as many as 8,000 MLGW customers and caused considerable flooding in Covington.
Over a dozen power lines were down along the road at Shelby Drive and Getwell, Memphis Light Gas and Water said Thursday.
Utility crews have been working since nearly 8 p.m. Thursday night to restore power in the southern end of Memphis.
