NEW YORK — The 42,339 fans at Citi Field continued to shower Mets right fielder Juan Soto with love in Saturday’s 3-0 win against the St. Louis Cardinals. He rewarded them by driving in the game-winning run way back in the third inning.

Nobody will live under a tighter microscope in New York sports than Juan Soto. Leaving the New York Yankees for the New York Mets made it a large enough story. Tack on 765 million more reasons with his record-breaking contract and it’s no surprise why he’s going to be an everyday talking point among sports fans.

Soto didn’t hear the restless crowd, he told The Post. He was focused on the Mets, on his at-bats, on the “couple rockets right in front of people” that turned into outs. Any frustration Soto — in the first season of a 15-year deal — has over his .221 average gets balanced by knowledge that struggles are just “part of the game.”
