It’s another day that ends in “Y”, which means Norfolk State Women’s Basketball dominated yet again, this time in Friday’s MEAC Tournament Semifinals. The Spartans cruised to a 72-33 win over Coppin State to punch their ticket to their third straight MEAC Tournament Championship game.

The Norfolk State women's basketball team wasn't completely satisfied with how it played in the MEAC quarterfinals Wednesday. Friday saw the Spartans look a little more like themselves.

NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Friday afternoon, defeating Coppin State 72-33 in the MEAC Semifinals. The victory secured the Spartans' place in the MEAC Championship game for the fourth consecutive season.

A key part of Norfolk State's 2022 MEAC Championship team, he felt the sting of back-to-back disappointments, first losing the 2023 title game to Howard, then falling to Howard again in last year's semifinals.

Norfolk State women's basketball is on the verge of making history. After an undefeated MEAC season and a commanding win over Coppin State in the semifinals, the Spartans are preparing for the MEAC Championship with more than just a trophy in mind.

The top-seeded Spartans (29-4) play Howard in the MEAC championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday at Scope for the conference’s automatic NCAA Tournament berth.
