OREGON, Ill. (WIFR) - A lock seals the gate shut outside the Lorado Taft Field Campus. The facility once provided more than 6,000 elementary and middle school students each year with an outdoor education. It hasn’t seen life since Northern Illinois University (NIU) closed the campus on Dec. 15, 2024.
