Actor Francisco San Martin, best known for his work on Days of our Lives and Jane The Virgin, has died. He was 39. San Martin died Jan. 16 in his Los Angeles home. Deadline reports the death was ruled suicide by hanging.

The late star originated the role of Dario Hernandez on "DOOL" and also appeared on "The Bold and the Beautiful."

San Martin died by suicide at his home on Thursday, Jan. 16, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office confirmed.

The soap star played Dario Hernandez and Javier Rodriguez on the long-running NBC show. One of his former co-stars shared a tribute via social media.

Hogan said she chose to retire because she's been working for 40 years and her husband retired eight years ago.

"I can think of no better way of ending a career of public service than serving the Democratic Party and championing the values we hold dear," Hogan wrote.
