Bay Area weather: Cold storm brings steady rain, thunderstorm threat
After long stretches of dry weather this winter, a cold storm swept across the Bay Area, bringing steady rain, gusty winds and the threat of minor flooding.
Valentine's Day weekend is supposed to be about love and adoration, but the National Weather Service is issuing winter storm warnings and weather statements for 12 states that are in line for a cold and snowy weekend.

A major blizzard is pounding the Northeast with heavy snow, damaging winds, and blizzard conditions on Monday, Feb. 23.
Pipes that never froze on me for 15 years froze,” said Chris Ferro, 58, from Brooklyn, New York, about the abnormally cold temperatures he experienced in January and February. Ferro owns several residential properties in Albany and said multiple days of below-freezing temperatures prevented him from doing repairs and renovations.
