Pittsburgh Steelers fans have several issues to debate as they limp into yet another offseason. The annual speculation about Mike Tomlin’s job security has diminished to murmurs, with many fans preparing to see him on the sidelines for at least another year.

Lots of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offseason decisions will be easy and obvious. Justin Fields will be the starting quarterback in 2025. Fields can be had for $15 million per season or less, maybe on a two-year deal.

He would likely start the season off the bench in favor of Richardson, but if the latter continues to struggle, Fields could be named the starter in no time. With a sturdy offensive line and weapons like Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor, there is high upside for Fields in Indianapolis.

The Pittsburgh Steelers would love to re-sign Justin Fields to a new contract this offseason, NFL insider Albert Breer says. Breer says that frustration within the organization grew with Russell Wilson down the stretch and Fields could return as a result of that, but he is unsure if that role would be as a starter.

Fields, who started six games and played in four more as a backup to Russell Wilson in the 2024 season, is set to become a pending free agent in March.
