The San Diego Padres have explored a trade with the Red Sox for All-Star left fielder Jarren Duran, a source confirmed to a veteran Boston reporter.

A trade idea proposed by Paul Hembekides would send Jarren Duran from the Boston Red Sox to the San Diego Padres for Luis Arraez, Ethan Salas, and Jeremiah Estrada.

In an ideal world, the Red Sox won't send Duran to an American League team, given he'd come with three additional years of club control after this one, but a team like the Cleveland Guardians is unlikely to keep Duran along long-term, needs outfield help, and has intriguing assets to offer.
