The Texas Rangers called up top outfield prospect Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock to make his major league debut on Sunday afternoon against the host Chicago White Sox.

The Texas Rangers have placed Joc Pederson on the 10-day injured list after their designated hitter broke his right hand when he was hit by a pitch.

Osuna, who signed with the Rangers out of Mexico for $125,000 as a 17-year-old, was elevated to Triple-A in the middle of May after the Rangers deemed that he’d checked every box he needed to at the Double-A level. He slashed .259/.474/.444 in eight Triple-A games and played center field.
