In a statement issued yesterday, Victorious Festival organisers told the County Press “it was the artist’s decision to stop the song” and “the decision by the event management to cut the sound and end the performance was only taken after the band used a chant widely understood to have a discriminatory context”.
Up to 80,000 music lovers are descending on Portsmouth as Victorious Festival opens its gates. Day one's line up includes Queens of the Stone Age, Kaiser Chiefs, Madness, the Charlatans and Ash. As well as the big names appearing at Southsea Common, Victorious supports a number of local acts.
