Aston Villa wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 2-0 win over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday night. Just over 24 hours after facing Marseille in France, Unai Emery returned to his former club and saw his side secure victory thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia.

Ollie Watkins says he is ready to attack the new campaign "all guns blazing" after scoring five goals in as many pre-season friendlies. The forward bagged in each of the matches he played over the summer - three in the States against Eintracht Frankfurt, St. Louis City, and Nashville - before also scoring against AS Roma and Villarreal.
