Predators goalie Pekka Rinne has announced his retirement after 15 seasons spent entirely with Nashville. The 38-year-old won the 2018 Vezina Trophy and was the 2021 winner of the King Clancy Trophy.

Monday at Ottawa, Laviolette pulled starter Pekka Rinne after one period and the Predators behind by three goals. Juuse Saros played the rest of the way and stopped the first 11 shots he faced.

That gave Rinne his first win since his final game with the Predators on May 10, 2021. Rinne, who played for Kiekko-Ketut as a youth player, was drafted by Nashville in the eighth round in 2004.
