Four illnesses are filling Minnesota hospitals, and health leaders are warning you that Minnesota is dealing with a "quad-demic."

Patients are piling up in Minnesota emergency rooms once again, but it’s not just from COVID-19. State health officials say influenza is making a comeback, combining with COVID, norovirus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to put more pressure on Minnesota hospitals than they’ve faced since the end of the pandemic.

Common and highly contagious illnesses are reaching several-month highs. Norovirus has almost reached a several-year record.

Influenza A, COVID-19 and norovirus (stomach flu) are on the rise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But there's a fourth "bug" the public should be aware of: respiratory syncytial virus. RSV causes cold-like symptoms and affects the breathing passages and lungs.
