A meteorite was seen lighting up the night sky over western Japan on Tuesday night. Dashcam footage filmed in Kagoshima showed the ball of light around 11 p.m. local time (1400GMT).

A huge fireball lit up the skies over southern Japan on late on Tuesday, stunning onlookers in several prefectures. Footage captured the night being illuminated by a dazzling blue-green hue as the celestial object shot across the sky.
