Fabrizio Romano has announced that Aston Villa centre-back Diego Carlos will sign for Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, paving the way for the Premier League side to secure an upgrade in that area of the field.

Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos has joined Fenerbahce for a reported £8.45million. The Brazilian centre-back signed for Villa from Seville in the summer of 2022 for a fee thought to be in the region of £29m.

As a result, a transfer has been in the offing for a number of weeks, Fenerbahce being deemed as the favourites with the 31-year-old eager to take on a new challenge. Villa have now announced that Carlos has departed for Jose Mourinho 's side for an undisclosed fee, reported to be in the region of £8.4m.

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has reportedly agreed personal terms with Aston Villa ahead of a possible January move to the club. The France star has played a peripheral role at Stamford Bridge so far this season and he has now reached an agreement to join Unai Emery’s side following the departure of Diego Carlos.
