Orioles acquire Jackson Kowar
The Orioles have acquired right-hander Jackson Kowar from the Twins in exchange for cash considerations, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN. The team placed fellow right-hander Colin Selby on the 60-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation in a corresponding move.
The Twins made a minor move to address the bullpen on Tuesday afternoon, claiming reliever Jackson Kowar off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. Kowar, ironically, had been designated for assignment just days earlier when the Twins traded catcher Jhonny Pereda, himself designated for assignment, to the Mariners for cash considerations.
The Twins dipped back into the waiver wire this week, grabbing right-handed pitcher Jackson Kowar after he was cut loose by Seattle. Minnesota had room to make the move and plenty of motivation, continuing a busy stretch of roster shuffling that keeps the back end of the pitching staff very much in flux.
The Seattle Mariners might have wanted to keep this pitcher around after waiving him, but the Minnesota Twins weren't having it.
