GUTHRIE FAMILY 'INNOCENT': Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said yesterday that no family members are considered suspects in Nancy Guthrie's disappearance and that they've been cooperative. "I’m not going to sit in silence when others are attacking the innocent," he told NBC News.

The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie began after she was abducted from her home near Tucson, Arizona, early on Sunday, Feb. 1, authorities said.

"To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel," said Sheriff Chris Nanos on Monday, Feb. 16

Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of "TODAY" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie was last seen Jan. 31 when she was dropped off at her home in the Tucson, Arizona.

The Pima County sheriff confirmed there was "law-enforcement activity."

"Is it really for money, or is it for revenge for something?” the Pima County Sheriff pondered while discussing the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mom.

Authorities think Nancy Guthrie was abducted in the middle of the night from her Catalina Foothills home in the Tucson area.
