Embattled automaker Nissan reported a $535-million quarterly loss on Wednesday, hit by U.S. tariffs, restructuring and lower sales volumes and said it would stop production at a plant in Mexico.

The Japanese carmaker is undertaking restructuring steps to turn around its business and reverse falling sales.

Nissan Motor Co. warned of sizable losses ahead as the embattled carmaker pushes forward with its costly turnaround plan and grapples with the fallout of US President Donald Trump’s tariffs on car imports.
