State and local law enforcement across five states will be targeting speeders as part of a special effort to save lives.

Each year during the “Deadly Days of Summer” drivers across five states – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee - are warned to slow down or risk receiving a ticket as “Operation Southern Slow Down” gets underway.

Law enforcement in five southeastern states will intensify patrols to curb speeding during Operation Southern Slow Down from July 14 to July 20.
