Shedeur Sanders Apologizes to Deion Sanders After Browns-Panthers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. NFL legend Deion Sanders was clearly proud of his son Shedeur for his performance as the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback in Friday's preseason opener. The young signal-caller, however, felt that he had let his father down.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the Browns took advantage of a short field thanks to a muffed punt and scored a touchdown. Shedeur Sanders, on the first play of the second quarter, found Kaden Davis in the back of the endzone on a threaded throw through traffic for a touchdown. This is the first of many, at least we hope.

The Panthers aided in Sanders’ success. Carolina muffed a punt return at its own 10-yard line in the second quarter, and the Browns recovered. Sanders rolled out and fired the ball between two defenders to Davis on a second-and-7 play to tie the game at 7-all in the second quarter.
