Oasis and Wembley Stadium go way back. The iconic football stadium in northwest London is, for many, the pinnacle of an artist's career. Everyone from Taylor Swift to Michael Jackson have dominated the 90,000-capacity ground. Come late August, Coldplay will hold the record with 16 sold-out shows.

An estimated 630,000 people will watch them at Wembley before the tour heads to North America in the autumn. During the first night at Wembley, fans of Oasis were shocked after they spotted a Hollywood star enjoying the music - none other than Tom Cruise.

I was slightly hoping, from a purely critical point of view, that the eighth concert of Oasis’s much-hyped reunion tour – and their first of seven shows at London’s Wembley Stadium – might somehow deviate from the raucous joy-filled carnival of the first seven.
