REMEMBER RITA?? HURRICANE RITA: On this day in 2005, more than 1.3 million people in Texas and Louisiana were evacuated, with many stuck on the roads for hours and even days in gridlocked traffic. Rita came just about three weeks after Katrina and was clocked as a category five at one point, terrifying millions.
