At 1 pm July 4th, the river crested at 29.65 feet, breaking the old record of 29.1 feet from July 23rd, 1938. Major flooding resulted, and the flood wave continues downstream and will reach the Colorado River northeast of San Saba, eventually draining into Lake Buchanan.
