It is forecast to be another stormy afternoon or evening for parts of eastern Australia today.🌧️ This morning, the clouds, showers and thunderstorms from last night cleared, with fine, sunny and warm weather returning across the eastern seaboard. There is a risk of more showers or thunderstorms later today across eastern and central Queensland and northern New South Wales. Some of these storms may strengthen into severe thunderstorms, which could bring large hailstones and damaging wind gusts.

It's expected that the hot weather will linger until around Tuesday next week, when some cooler and less humid conditions will arrive. A run of hot day and nights are ahead for the tropical north. Much of Queensland and the Northern Territory will experience above average temperatures over the coming days and nights.
