ON THIS DAY NOVEMBER 5TH 1935 It was on this day 90 years ago that Kray enforcer Albert Donoghue was born. ‘Big Albert’ was born in Dublin, Ireland on Bonfire night, November 5th, 1935, to a strict working-class Catholic family. The third of four children, the others being girls, his father, Joe, was a seaman and in the British merchant navy, sailing out to Belfast frequently.
