Short term changes to weight on the scale don't show the whole picture. It's possible (in the short term) to be gaining weight even if you're losing fat. If you are going to track your weight this is how. I wouldn’t advise checking the scales often to be honest because I feel like you can over obsess and it can cause mood swings after seeing weight not being lost, I tracked visually but everyone is different
